Synclassical on the big screen with Rocco Papaleo’s “Il bene comune”
A new placement for Synclassical – Machiavelli Music reaches the big screen with Il bene comune, the film directed by Rocco Papaleo and starring, among others, Vanessa Scalera, Claudia Pandolfi, Teresa Saponangelo and Andrea Fuorto.
Directed by Rocco Papaleo, Il bene comune brings together a cast including Vanessa Scalera, Claudia Pandolfi, Teresa Saponangelo and Andrea Fuorto in a story where human relationships, community and personal transformation meet on screen.
In the film, “Aladdin Suite. Oriental festive march.” by Carl Nielsen, performed by Malcolm Stewart and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, accompanies a scene set in the woods, where the character played by Vanessa Scalera throws leaves into the air.
The music choice came from a very specific creative need: finding a piece with a solemn, theatrical and distinctive character, able to evoke the expressive strength of a major twentieth-century orchestral work, while also meeting the production’s licensing requirements. After careful research and several alternative proposals, Nielsen’s piece proved to be the most effective solution for the scene.
This placement highlights the value of music consultancy: not only providing a track, but identifying the right music for a scene, while taking into account narrative identity, budget, timing and full rights management.
